There is another way to attain enlightenment — by letting go of cultivation itself.
Let go of everything. Let go of all external things that bring sensations to the brain — emotions, feelings, attachments. Let go of family affection, romantic love, and all emotional ties. Let go of your parents, your spouse, your children. Let go of material possessions, career, wealth. Let go of your body, your brain — let go of yourself.
To let go means to be able to view all these things objectively, without allowing them to control your thoughts or dominate your mind. When you can do that, you have already entered the path of cultivation.
The “objectivity” I speak of here is, before enlightenment, a false objectivity. Most people reach it through the analytical thinking of the brain — that is still illusion. If through cultivation you can awaken your inner mind, then observe with your inner mind. If not, then temporarily observe through mental analysis. Continue your practice step by step — through meditation and out-of-body experience — observing deeply as you progress.
When you have let go of most things, then let go of letting go itself. Let go of the desire to cultivate, and even the act of trying to let go. Release the idea of “I am cultivating” and “I must let go.” Instead, experience the pure emptiness — the state of nothingness and void. Over time, as you stay in this awareness, you may naturally reach the state of enlightenment.
This is the method of letting go of cultivation that I summarized after my own enlightenment.
This approach is different from the path I personally took. I cannot be certain whether this way leads to the same enlightened state that I experienced. Nor can I say what kind of state it will bring — whether it is higher or lesser, better or worse.
All I can sense is that this way of enlightenment through letting go may lead one to the ultimate state of emptiness and nothingness. Everyone’s path of cultivation is different. If this method resonates with you, you may try it.
